A warm welcome awaits you..
Grawen is situated at the foot of the southern ridges of the Brecon Beacons’ highest hills and some of the most appealing walking country in the land, a fantastic location close to historic towns, Brecon Beacons and the Waterfall country.
We are a family run, 3* camping park and want to make your stay an enjoyable one. Our site is perfect for families, couples, walkers and cyclists who either want to relax, enjoy or discover the beautiful views of the countryside.
We are also pleased to accommodate students on their expeditions for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
There are lots of things to do in our area where you can use the park as a base. Within a few minutes walk from the site is a beautiful reservoir which is perfect for an evening stroll.
Just 2 miles south of the site is our local village Cefn Coed, where you will be able to find convenience stores, pubs, takeaways and much more.
At the moment we can only take pre-paid bookings only as our reception is closed, Sorry for the inconvenience.

DOG FRIENDLY

Dogs are welcome, we just ask to keep them on leads and clean up after them.

First come first serve basis. Please do not build fresh fire pits. Raised firepits are allowed, be mindful not to burn the grass.

Chemical toilet disposal.

TOILETS

Clean toilets with shaver point in gents.
toilets are cleaned by both male and female.

BBQs ALLOWED

Please don't leave a burnt patch.

Things To Do

Below are a few of many must do’s in the area around the Grawen

Merthyr Tydfil Town

Merthyr Tydfil is a historical town which offers a great selection of shopping, as well as entertainment opportunities, with a multiplex cinema, bowling and a wide variety of dining establishments. You can get to the town within 5 minutes by car or you catch the T4 bus near the entrance to the site.

Ystradfellte Waterfalls

IS A MUST! Amazing breathtaking views just 30 minutes car journey from the Grawen. It is incredibly popular for walkers as there are many walks including a footpath that passes behind one of the waterfalls.

Pen Y Fan

Pen Y Fan is the second highest peak in Wales and the highest in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Storey Arms is just a 10 minute drive from the campsite where you can start your picturesque walk.

Bike Park Wales

Bike Park Wales is a world class mountain bike park just off the A470, 5 miles south from the campsite. https://www.bikeparkwales.com/

Brecon Town

In Brecon (14 Miles north of Grawen) you have a market town where you can see the Georgian architecture, visit the Brycheiniog theatre, walk or cruise along pretty canal, and is known for one of the highest quality Dark Skies locations in the UK.

Brecon Mountain Railway

Take a ride on the vintage steam train which takes you into the Brecon Beacons National Park, you will be able to take in the beautiful scenery. Approx. 5 mile from site. https://www.bmr.wales

Garwnant Visitor Centre

Garwnant is a 5 minute drive from us, which has an information center, kiddies play area, offers forest walks & mountain bike trails and a cafe/restaurant. Fishing permits for llwyn Onn and other reservoirs can be bought from the visitor centre.

Nant Ddu Lodge Hotel

This is a recommended pub/restaurant where you can enjoy bar meals or fine dining or even enjoy some treatments at the spa. 2 miles by car.

Cyfarthfa Castle

Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery is just 5 minutes from the site. Within the grounds is a miniature steam railway, fishing lake, children’s play area and hosts events throughout the year.

Penderyn Distillery

Nestled in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons based in the traditional village of Penderyn is one of the best distilleries in Wales, producing finest malt whiskies recognised worldwide. http://www.welsh-whisky.co.uk/

Big Pit

National Showcaves Centre

Dan yr Ogof showcaves is about 40 minutes by car. It is one of the major tourist attractions in Wales and includes one of the World’s largest dinosaur parks. www.showcaves.co.uk

We are located on the A470 road inside the Brecon Beacons National Park south side of the Llwyn-Onn Reservoir. 4 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil, 2 miles off the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road . We are just 14 miles from Brecon town.

Cancellation Policy
POSTEPONEMENT AND CANCELATION DUE TO GOVERNMENT RESTRICITIONS
If for any reason we have to close the caravan and camping park due to Covid restrictions or any lockdowns, we can either issue a refund or move your holiday to another date.
CANCELLATION ARRANGEMENT – TENTS, TOURING CARAVANS AND MOTORHOMES
We understand that sometimes you may want to cancel or amend your booking.
Cancellation 0-7 nights before arrival – sorry no refund
Cancellation 8-14 nights before arrival – partial refund – 50% of your total holiday, or the booking may be re-arranged to another date subject to availability.
Cancellation 15+ nights before arrival – we will return your pitch fees in full.
As we don’t take deposits, we feel this is fair for everyone.
Terms and conditions
We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Any such changes will take effect immediately when posted on the Website or otherwise brought to your attention.
We are keeping reception closed this year so we would like everyone to send a text or email to check in. Any problem someone is on site at all times either text or call us.
Check in is after 12pm – Check out is before 12pm.

Campfires are only permitted in designated areas – Barbecues/log burners are allowed as long as they are raised of the ground.

As this is a family site, any music should be turned off after 10.30pm and noise kept to a minimum, this especially applies to large groups. This is for the benefit of ALL campers.

If your behaviour on site is disruptive to other guests or deemed unacceptable by us, you will be asked to leave the campsite and in this event no refund will be given. Guests must accept this as part of entering into a booking with us.
For Bank Holiday Weekends there is a MINIMUM stay requirement of 2 nights for Electric Hook up pitches.

Grawen Caravan & Camping Park accepts no liability for loss or damage to possessions and/or personal injury. 

In making this booking you are accepting full responsibility for yourself, your booking party, your children and you are agreeing to abide by our Terms and Conditions, which can also be viewed on our website.

All cars, vehicles, motorbikes, bikes or other vehicles are parked at their owner’s risk. 

Grawen Caravan and Camping Park accepts no liability for loss or damage to cars, vehicles, motorbikes, bikes, or other vehicles.

If arrival time is after 9pm – please be mindful when setting up not to disturb other campers.
The use of generators is NOT permitted on site
All rubbish must be placed in the bins provided and the pitches are to be kept clean and tidy at all times
We are a working sheep farm; all owners are requested to keep their dogs under strict control and on a lead at all times while on site. Dog fouling must be cleaned up by the owner.
The maximum period any person can stay on the site is 21 days per visit (provided that the 21 days are paid in advance). Any extensions to these times must be approved.
All parents or guardians must be responsible for the children in their care.
A 5mph speed limit around the site must be observed at all times.
COVID-19 – please follow all government guidelines while on site.
